A message from Mayor Cassetti: "Please join me for my Second Annual State of the City Address. My administration and I will update you on all the progress made this past year and our plans for Ansonia's bright future. This is an exciting time for our City and we have much to share with you. See you there!" David S. Cassetti, Mayor"
The city will commence the 2015 road paving projects on Tuesday, October 13th. Scheduled hours of work will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The first road to be paved will be Beaver Street from Moulthrop Street to the Seymour Town line. This phase of the project is scheduled to last three to four days. Once Beaver Street is completed, we will be moving on to Ford Street, from Martin Terrace to Ford Road and finally, Smith Street. Traffic control personnel will help guide motorists through the work zone. Delays may be expected, but please be patient. The anticipated duration of the projects will last approximately two weeks. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
RECYCLING: From Winters Bros responding to recycle questions: "We have separate trucks dispatched to Ansonia for household Garbage (MSW) and Single Stream recycling. So we do ask that you separate your regular household trash, like food items from single stream recyclables like paper, plastic, metal, cardboard and glass. Single stream means that we can accept all recyclable items together, so you don't have to bundle your paper and keep it separate from your glass. Our machines in Shelton will sort that material. It does not mean that you should place recyclables in your regular garbage. One of our trucks will pick up garbage and a separate truck will come back if you have recyclables out.
Bulk pickup began on September 4th. The scheduled days for pick up will be Monday and Friday only, through November 30th. All bulk pick ups will be performed by appointment. To schedule an appointment, please call 203-736-5945. For specific guidelines for bulk and brush pick up, please see follow link. As a reminder, brush must be bundled separately from all other materials in four foot lengths. Thank you.
|A Tri-Town Hazardous Waste Day will be held on October 31, 2015. Details to follow.
Good news Ansonia residents! At the March 10th Board of Alderman meeting, the Ansonia Riverwalk "dog friendly" rule was extended for the remainder of 2015. Please remember to keep your licensed dog on a leash and don't forget to "clean up."
