The tax collector's office is responsible for the billing and the collection of business personal property, motor vehicles, real estate taxes and related penalty charges. In addition to the accuracy and the record keeping of each individual tax. The office operates under the General Statues of Connecticut and City of Ansonia Ordinances.

City Hall remains closed to the public
For the July 2021 Tax Season, please use the envelope provided to send payment by mail. Tax payments are being sent directly to the City's lockbox in Hartford. Please make sure to submit the appropriate coupon with your payment as this will prevent any delays and enclose a self addressed stamped envelope for a receipt. Payments received can also be verified by visiting mytaxbill.net/ansonia or clinking the Pay Taxes Online link below. Tax payments can also be dropped in the drop box near City Hall or paid online. Please contact the Assessor's Office at 203-736-5950 to submit proof of a plate or vehicle disposal.
Notice is hereby given to all taxpayers liable for payment of property taxes to the City of Ansonia on the grand list October 1, 2020. The first installment of Motor Vehicle, Personal Property, and Real Estate taxes are due and payable July 1, 2021, and become delinquent after August 2, 2021.
Failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax, interest and penalties accrued. Late payments will be subject to interest from July 1, 2021 at the rate of 1.5% per month, 18% per annum, with a $2.00 minimum interest charge in accordance with the provisions of the General Statues of Connecticut, Section 12-130, 12-145, and 12-146.
Payments, along with the appropriate tax bill coupon may be mailed to PO BOX 150509, Dept. #000020 Hartford, CT 06115-0509, or paid online at mytaxbill.net/ansonia. A drop box is also available for check payments only and is located in the driveway between City Hall and Veteran’s Memorial Park. Any payments dropped off in the drop box after office hours on the last day of the month will be considered late and interest and/or penalties will be charged.
Make checks payable to: Tax Collector, City of Ansonia and receipts will be returned to taxpayers that include a self-addressed stamped envelope with their payment.
