Ansonia Rescue Medical Services Commission
The Ansonia Rescue Medical Services Commission oversees the Ansonia Rescue and Medical Services (ARMS), the City's municipal emergency medical and rescue organization. The Commission directs all expenditures of funds, establishes non-operating administrative policy, administers ambulance services, and has control over all property of the service.

About the Commission
As established in Article XXVII of the City Charter, the Commission is composed of:
- Three aldermen appointed by the President of the Board of Aldermen
- Three officers of ARMS: the Director, the Chief of Rescue Services, and the Chief of Ambulance Services
- The Mayor, serving ex officio
Commission members serve two-year terms. The Chairman is elected from among the aldermanic members by majority vote. The Mayor votes only to break a tie.
The Commission submits required quarterly and annual reports on the service and has such additional powers as provided by local and state law.
