NEWS RELEASE - ANSONIA MEMORIAL DAY PARADE - May 25th, 2014
The 108th Ansonia Memorial Day Parade will be held Sunday, May 25th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. The parade starts at Nolan Field and proceeds along Wakelee Avenue, down Jackson Street passing in review at City Hall and proceeding to Big Y Shopping Plaza on Main Street. The parade is in honor of “All Veterans” and a brief ceremony will be held at the front of City Hall to honor the veterans. The theme of this years' parade is “Ansonia's Tribute To Those Who Served and Who are Now Serving Around the World”.
The parade will feature five (5) Divisions, each led by an Ansonia Fire Company. This years’ Honor Fire Company will be the Charters Hose Company.
The parade will have many musical units including the Ansonia High School Band, The Connecticut Hurricanes Corps, New Haven Gaelic Pipe Band, Washington Park Fife and Drum Corps, Naugatuck High School Band and others, plus floats.
There will be Shuttle Bus Service starting at 12:00 p.m. from the parking lot at Ion Bank in the Big Y mall. A special thank you to the Big Y Shopping Plaza for all their help and cooperation.
