Ansonia knows how to celebrate Women's History Month!

The aldermanic chambers were bursting with community members celebrating Ansonia's very first Women's History honorees. They received official Ansonia city proclamations from Mayor Tyszka and a State of Connecticut proclamation from Representative Rochelle. Thank you to Elizabeth “Beth” Lynch, Diane Stroman, and Beverly Tidmarsh for your decades of contributions to Ansonia in civic and academic leadership, advocacy, and mentorship.

Mayor Tyszka acknowledged the often-overlooked contributions women have made to uplift and strengthen Ansonia, both in the past and present, as well as those that continue to inspire us for generations to come.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate these inspiring women who help shape Ansonia.

We are honored to create a tradition that acknowledges the importance of teaching future generations the sacrifices women have made throughout history in pursuit of the ongoing work toward equality.
